Rover Alcisa installs a viewpoint in the main square of Almazán in Soria

The rehabilitation works of the “Plaza Mayor de Almazán”, a town in the province of Soria highlights by the installation made by Rover Alcisa Constructions of a singular viewpoint flown over the River Duero, a structural element made by steels and wood, which seeks to value the relationship of the “Plaza Mayor” with its surroundings around the River Duero.

The viewpoint is suspended 15 meters above the landscape, encouraging an unexpected perspective that claims to contemplate the natural and architectural values of Almazán. The work, funded by the Ministry of Works and the City Council, is being implemented by the join venture formed by Rover Alcisa and Hormisoria and its authors are the architectural firms Churtichaga+Quadra-Salcedo.

The viewpoint, in the words of the mayor of Almazán, Ángel Nunez, is a “unique element and a new tourist attraction that residents and tourists will enjoy because of their amazing dimensions”. “In fact, the height is of 17 metres to which we must add more than 2.5 metres over the River Duero. The cantilever has a surface area of 50 meters squared. 

The corten steel structure is perfectly anchored by 24 pins and has laminated wooden beams treated to withstand the meteorological elements.
