This project, promoted by ADIF, facilitates the integration of rail and underground. The works of expansion and improvement of the modal interchanger in San Isidro station in Valencia will be carried out by Rover Alcisa Construction, a company of the Rover Alcisa Group. These works complement action already undertaken in the Station of Vara de Quart, replacing the current temporary stop trains for a final building will improve communication between the railway and subway, making a comprehensive performance in both stations. It is a work of a specific technical relevance. On the one hand, it constitutes an act of rail civil engineering, but it is also a building integrated action between the existing traces of Iberian gauge railroad and subway tracks.

Therefore, it is noteworthy that the social relevance of such action lies in the construction of a passenger building, access to rail lines and communication with Metro Valencia.

Communication with the town of Valencia 

The building, from the current level of Gremis Street, allows access along with elevators or stairs to the intermediate level of lobby for access to railway platforms. In addition, another feature of it is that, once built, will communicate through a broker, with the platforms of Metro Valencia, in lines 1 and 5, allowing the transit of passengers from rail lines to lines of Metro Valencia, facilitating, the access to the town of Valencia.

In addition, such action in the station of San Isidro, allows the transfer of passengers from rail to subway and vice versa.

Performances in the construction of the new exchanger of Vara de Quart

The technical complexity and social relevance of such actions involve a very significant series of actions and of great importance for users. Among these are:

- Construction of the passenger building and the underpass to access the platforms depending on destination.

- Construction of new sidewalks in the area of influence of the underpass in the modification of Vara de Quart halt. Extension of roads and removal of molehills.

- Construction of footbridge over existing roads of Metro Valencia to allow crossing between the platforms and improve access by stairs and elevators to the new passenger building.

- Extension of the Metro Valencia platforms to connect to the station of San Isidro.

- Renewal of several sections of rail and shift switches.

- Construction of the environment around the new halt building in Vara de Quart.

- Glassed corridor to unite the Passenger Building with the Metro Valencia platforms.

- Extension of the platforms of Metro Valencia, with a stop at San Isidro to facilitate communication with the railway station in Vara de Quart.

- Construction of a metal bridge for crossing the paths of Metro Valencia and enable change track without having to go to the crossing under roads in the metro station of San Isidro.

- Private accesses to the traveler Building and adequacy of areas of close vials.

- Performances of importance in the way, changing ballast, track renewal, change lanes and cross type change of existing diversions and leveling.

- The planned with involvement of trains is carried out so as to minimize the conditions for passenger traffic.

In short, this performance is an important infrastructure investment exceeding 3 million euros, notably communication benefits for users of rail and Metro Valencia, and provides the capital of the Turia River, a substantial improvement in its network transport.
